Survey and evaluation on each corporate activity related to integrated chemicals management in 2009

To facilitate the corporate activities for the integrated chemicals management we developed an evaluation indicator and we have been continuing survey based on it. The evaluation indicator consists of three horizontal axes and four vertical axes. The horizontal axes are evaluation axes i.e. Science axis (evaluation of science basis) Capacity axis (evaluation of personal ability and organization) and Performance axis (achievement and situation of corporation with clients and information disclosure to society). The vertical axes are evaluation elements i.e. hazard assessment exposure assessment risk assessment and risk management.
In the survey of 2009 we obtained the valid response from 121 corporations. The overall tendency of 2009 was almost the same as past survey results. In brief the distribution of the total achievement level of each corporation varies widely the achievement level of performance area is low and risk assessment systems that referred exposure condition have not been completed. It is concluded that many corporations has been improving the chemicals management gradually for recent three years.
